When Fears Surface

For many of us going through a process of self-realization, remembering or ascension, our inner fears, or suppressed memories, might surface. It may appear in the form of nightmares, fear of the unknown, illogical fears, phobias, doubts and disappointments, depression, etc.

We all internalize the fear surrounding us at this time and age, and it adds to our own fear-based experiences, and cellular memories to create an emotion that’s overwhelming. However, fear, or doubt, is not all bad. In fact, I have come to believe that all words are neutral, and we give them meaning with our thoughts. So instead of turning ‘fear’ into something detrimental, we could turn it into a catalyst for us to climb up our spiritual ladder.

 Understanding how our brain operates

It’s really important to know how our brain works and how it blocks our attempts to explore beyond our current state of being. In his book, The Heart Code, Paul Pearsall discusses the mechanics of the brain. He says, “The brain/body covenant is one designed primarily for staying alive, seeking stimulation, doing and getting.” The brain is also ‘naturally pessimistic’ and often thinks of unpleasant possibilities and expects the worst as a sort of preparation for the unexpected, and as a form of self-defense.

Therefore when we are on our spiritual journey into the unknown, the brain fights tooth and nail to retain logic through the thought processes, and puts up barriers, like fear and doubt, to avoid losing control.

Understanding Fear

Fear is the tug of war between our inner knowledge about our true nature and the doubts in our ability to manifest that state. In fact, we are more afraid of acknowledging how magnificent we are! It’s as if we will be jinxed if we said so ourselves.

I read a quotation by Marianne Williamson a few weeks back that sums up fear for those who have seen the light but are afraid to grab it for themselves: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”

Overcoming fear

How can we deal with the fear and overcome it? Eckhart Tolle says, “Fear dissolves when you start doing what you fear, instead of thinking about it.” When faced with a situation, the anticipation of what will happen creates the fear. Once you are into the process, you effortlessly move through to the experience and on to the next one.

Whenever you feel doubt or anxiety, bring your attention to the present moment.

When we bring our focus to now, we shift to a momentary stillness, and clarity arises. This is where we want to arrive, as from this neutral point, we can almost always choose to ride the higher frequencies.

Here’s wishing that you conquer all fear, and flow towards knowing your truth.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Message from Mother Earth

As I go through a transition with you into a new earth, I am just as excited as you are to make this leap together. But as we stand here and now, there are some issues that we need to work on, to help us smoothen our journey. To all those who are listening, and to all those who feel me move, I ask you to look into your heart, and help us, as a collective, achieve some common goals.

Leave golden footsteps behind

Tread softly on me, keep your footsteps light, and every step you take, make sure it counts, and it sparkles with your true essence. There are close to 6 billion souls who have come here to rise with us to a new frequency, in body, to experience heaven on earth. I have resources for all, and I am churning out as much as I can so everybody can access them. But if you misuse my resources, gather more for yourself so that other family members get left behind, hungry, discontent, I do not have the energy to keep producing more, endlessly.

Everything is about balance, and just like you need to bring balance to your body and soul, I need to bring balance to mine, and without your support, it’s not going to be possible. We are all simple beings at heart, it’s only our egos that focuses on wants, and not the needs. Please take from me what you need, and let go of some of your wants, so that everyone gets their fair share.

For every mother, all children are equal

For a mother, all children are beautiful. It does not matter where they live, it does not matter how they live, what their beliefs are or their cultures and traditions. It also does not matter if they are older and wiser through their spiritual journey, or recalcitrant in their ego-selves. All are loved, and all are cared for.

No one is better than the other, more than the other in the eyes of the mother. We are all equal souls in the cosmos, bound together here on earth plain through our collective journey. When I don’t see any difference between my children, where did my children learn to differentiate themselves? Where did they learn not to share, and keep their goodies to themselves? Well, it won’t really matter in the end, when we all unite into one large unity wave. For those who have started remembering our connection, I ask you to give your brothers and sisters a nudge or two, to help them remember as well.

What’s natural is beautiful

Have you tried looking inside to see your natural state of being? You are gorgeous beyond belief, full of source. Your body is a vessel that you try to decorate every so often, in hope that others may find you beautiful. All your outward beauty compares little to what lies inside. Let your natural beauty shine, through your actions and interactions, through your thoughts and feelings.

I too would like my natural beauty shine through to reflect the beauty of your souls. However, all the artificial knowledge and the egotistical wants of some of my children does not allow me to get back to my true nature. Sometimes parts of me are uprooted so that concrete buildings are built, and it’s difficult for me to breathe. Sometimes parts of me are clogged up with unnatural waste produced by many of you. We are going back to a natural state, I can feel it in my bones, I can feel it in you, but do keep up the pace, and do remind others of the glories of staying true to our nature.

We all move up, no one stays behind

No mother would like to keep any child behind when she moves to a new location. And that’s where we are all moving as we move to the new earth. However distorted the mind is in some of my children, however disturbed their journeys; I would want everyone to come with me.

To this purpose, I would like to ask your help, to the ones who have started the climb with me, to hold the hands of those who do not know who they truly are, and pull them towards our new direction. They might protest, sneer at you, even say hurtful things, but we all form a straight line to the top. We all move ahead.

You are all aligned straight from my core and right up to source. You may have veered away from that alignment, but with love and encouragement from family, everyone can step back into alignment, and ascend together.

‘Light’-en Up!

I have been away for a while on work and some personal growth, and I have not been able to update the blog in the last couple of weeks. And even though I have not been writing, I have had the amazing opportunity to travel, mingle with old and newly made friends, and share experiences with them, and it all reinforced the idea that we are all one, we are the same, and we are together in our journey here on earth.

 Lighten the burden.

We feel the heaviness in our souls only because we feel the separateness of ourselves from others. Yesterday, I was meeting up with an editor friend for an afternoon lunch, and she was discussing the topics she was going to cover in her next issue. I was amazed at the fact that her topics matched almost exactly with the articles I had thought of for my next newsletter and she had already lined up her interviews, ready to go. Years back when I did not feel the connection so strongly, I would have felt a little irritated knowing that someone else had my ideas! But now I just felt wonderful, and blissed out at this amazing synchronicity. We both had the same goal, of getting information out to people. How did it matter who got it out first, as long people/readers got their stories and the inspiration they needed.

Ligthen the load by sharing your dreams and desires with others, as well as easing the pain and frustration of others, by listening to them. The more we feel connected to the whole, the easier the world flows through and around us.

 Relax and Flow

Bringing more light into our body also means letting the energy flow through us smoothly. There’s really nothing in it for you if you always ask the question – ‘what’s in it for me?’ Everything in this world as we see it flows – it’s all an energy transfer. And if you want to receive good energy, you need to give out good ones as well to attract the right vibrations. If you want to stay disconnected, you are out of the loop.

 Letting light in

Have you looked yourself in the mirror lately and smiled a big smile? Have you cuddled a puppy dog or talked to your pets? Have you felt the breeze and gazed at clouds? Have you laughed so hard that your stomach ached? Staying in joy is not easy, if you are stuck with dense thoughts. Lighten up, stay with your joy, and light will pour through your body and your soul.

Visualize a better world (for yourself)

A few years back when The Secret came out, the visualization videos of The Secret became very popular. One of my favorite ones was The Secret to You, which you can still access on You Tube at http://youtu.be/phL0RLKL8bc

However, over the years, my visualizations expanded, and they moved away from thinking from the head to the heart. As this was happening, I noticed that I was moving away more from ‘me’ frame of mind to a ‘we’ perspective.

 Use your imagination to visualize

We are all very good at imagining things, whether we want to admit it or not. We are unconsciously creating our reality all the time as we continue to conjure up the lack, limitation, problems and difficulties in our life.  However, we can use our natural creative imagination to think of love, nurture, peace, prosperity and harmony. Visualization is a technique where you consciously use your imagination to create a mental picture of what you truly want, and in the process shift your energies to the positive.

Visualize at the right frequency

Everything around us is energy and we are energy bodies. Our thoughts and feeling are energy as well. The law of energy says that energy of a certain wave length will attract similar energy frequencies. It’s difficult to bring our awareness to our thoughts, since we have so many of them popping up in our head all the time. But we can identify our feelings quite easily. When we do, we can visualize ourselves out of low frequency feelings and give ourselves a lift into feeling good, strong, joyful. I find it easier to move away from my head and visualizing from feeling/heart – and usually the visualization is much stronger for me.

Expanding your Energy into Thinking Big

You would think that you can only visualize little things for yourself, and that’s how far your imagination can stretch. Then you might fall back into thinking about whether what you want will come true or not. I tried it for a while myself, and yes, some of what I wanted did actually happen, and some didn’t. The point, for me, at least, is that I was never able to hold my frequency at a higher level for a long time. I would swing back and forth from thinking positive to self doubt. Until the day I started dreaming bigger.

I dreamt of providing support to a community school in a village, giving my daughter all the support she needed to become a performer, providing a group of artisans with work through my business contacts to keep their traditional craft alive, providing my clients with the best possible alternative in sustainable gifts (I run a promotional packaging and gift company).

As I kept imagining the best possible option in every scenario in my life, and in all the charity work I wanted to do, I started realizing that I was riding on a high frequency wave pretty much all the time. As I was feeling so good, I was able to swerve away from the negative, and synchronistically arrive at positive experiences, more often than I ever did before.

Visualize a glorious future

We have seen some tough times through the last few years, including the economic downturn, political turmoil and natural disasters. No one gets away from the effects of these events in our lives, especially energetically. However, being big dreamers (or on our way to getting there), we can dream up a glorious world for ourselves. There are several individuals, and groups, who are trying to come together to visualize a better future for all of us. I have listed a few projects, along with visualization resources below.

Whether these projects are something you believe in or not, it does not matter. Take what resonates with you at this time. We got together and prayed for Japan during the recent earthquake. We can put in a few minutes everyday and give our imagination a go for a better world for all of us.

Excerpts from The Gifts from the Mountain by Eileen McDargh

Nature is a great teacher, if we spend some quality time with it. Nature inspires, motivates, and rejuvenates us. I wanted to share a few excerpts from this beautiful book I read called Gifts from the Mountains: Simple Truth for Life’s Complexities by international speaker and consultant, Eileen McDargh (www.eileenmcdargh.com).  McDargh discovers profound life lessons through her back-packing trip to the Sierra Nevada.

I have also included a few pictures from my friend, Madhurima Chatterjee (more of her work can be found on http://creativerumblings.blogspot.com), who left her job as a technical writer and got back to her passion – painting.

Road to Eternity by Madhurima Chatterjee

McDargh writes:

“Sometimes, it’s easier without a pack.
We don’t always need to carry the weight
of possessions with us. Exploring new territories
—-is easiest, when we are unencumbered.
Emotions can weigh as much as possessions.
…As we forge new relationships, life directions
or professional challenges, ditch this pack.

Falkenberg Series: Contemplation by Madhurima Chatterjee

McDargh writes:

Solitude
lets you see more.
A day hike in spring, unfettered with the chatter of anyone
around me, brings a variable feast when I stop and sit.
Alone. Quiet.
…Our fast-paced, noise-choked world seems
to give us little space to be alone.
Take yourself away – and sit in solitude.
The table is ready for the feasting.

Poplars by Madhurima Chatterjee

McDargh writes:

Observe nature’s pattern.
Different trees grow
at different elevations.
And so do we.
…Nature always knows best.
As my fellow writer Jim Cathcart says,
“Nurture your nature.”

Flowing Brook by Madhurima Chatterjee

McDargh writes:

Cross the stream
if you come to it
-not before.
You can hear the roar of waterfalls before you see them.
…Your mind creates a cataract
of giant proportions, a torrid of tumultuous whitewater…
What’s this? The trail moves away from the river.
…all that worry for nothing.

Patience as a Teacher in our Spiritual Journey

I dedicate this post to my friend VJ, who reinforced an important lesson for me this week – patience. I have always been a person who likes action. If there is something that needs to be done, I will get it done. So when I came up with the idea of this blog (which we will soon turn into a website), I wanted to get the basic structure up as soon as possible.

VJ, co-creator of this site is my tech genius – she works quietly behind the scenes, getting these projects on board. Last week however, she was caught up on some personal projects, and the progress of switching this space to a website, took a momentary break. With VJ, I had to take a break as well, and although I felt a little restless, I had to consciously move my focus from reaction to learning.

Using Patience as a stepping stone

‘Patience’ is a stepping stone for me to ‘trust’. Trust in the diving timing, that is. Everything works in synchronicity, and if your intent is strong, and the quality of the intent is good, it will materialize in the best possible way. However, our minds are impatient, and we look for immediate fulfillment of our wishes and desires. So we start doubting the process, get frustrated, even angry, and we land up saying hurtful things to other people and to ourselves. We react.

What a great time to practice being patient, chill out, enjoy some other things that we like to do. Often I have found that when I get these little breathers in my work, and I am able to shift myself from reactive mode to acceptance, I land up enjoying the time. I even find more creative things to do, maybe write some more, or go for a group meditation that usually I would not be able to attend due to my work. And things work out fine at the end. Maybe, the whole experience was god’s way of giving me a break!

Change Your Thoughts

Dr. Wayne Dyer has a book called ‘Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life’ and he loves quoting this as well. It’s one of my favorite things to keep in mind, and practice as often as I can. Every event in our life is a learning experience. It really depends on how we look at it, and what we take from it.

Even as we all travel forward in our spiritual quest, it’s easy to get frustrated with the process. Sometimes, tools and techniques don’t bring the right result, sometimes your questions do not get answered immediately. Look at things in a different way – maybe your buttons are getting pushed on purpose for you to discover something about yourself. Be patient, keep the trust, and enjoy life!

Healing with Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine with remedies from natural resources that uses diluted preparations to boost the body’s natural system of healing. I have been using homeopathic remedies for many years and I’m a great believer in it. I recently had the opportunity to catch up with my friend, Anu Chalke, who has been a homeopathic practitioner for 15 years, and had a wonderful conversation on the science and thought behind homeopathy

How did homeopathy originate and what is the theory behind it?

Anu: Homeopathy’s founder was Samuel Hahnemann, who was a German physician. He founded homeopathy in 1792. He was a medical doctor who was displeased with the way medicine was being practiced at the time. So he switched from practicing medicine to translating medical journals for his livelihood. During one of his translations, he came across the claim that cinchona, the bark of a Peruvian tree, was effective in treating malaria, due to its bitterness. He started experimenting with cinchona by applying it to himself, and found that the drug could create malaria-like symptoms in a healthy human being.

That led him to propose a theory of ‘Similia Similibus’ or ‘like cures like’, whereby that substance which could create symptoms in a healthy individual, could also treat a sick individual showing those same symptoms. This became the basis of homeopathy.

How are the homeopathic medicines prepared? How does it affect our body?

Anu: Homeopathic medicines are created through a process of dilution and potentisation, a method Hahnemann came up with. The natural substance is diluted with alcohol or water with a special natural sugar, and then shaken vigorously, to release the ‘vital energy’ of the substance. We all have an energy body, and homeopathic medicine works with the energies of our body to cure the blockages that have lead to the disease.

Everybody has the potential to fall sick, but some of us do because our resistance is compromised. Homeopathic medicines cause similar disease-like effects in your body, and the stronger medicines take over the weaker symptoms. Homeopathic medicines therefore have a dynamic reaction with your body, versus a chemical reaction caused by ingestion of allopathic medicines.

How is homeopathy different from naturopathy, ayurveda or TCM?

Anu: The sources for all of these are the plant, animal and mineral kingdom. So the sources remain the same, but the method of preparation is different. I usually do not recommend mixing these therapies together.

What kind of side effects can you get with homeopathic medicines?

Anu: Homeopathic medicines can have side effects if you take them without any reason, or without prescription, as they can start producing the effects of the disease. When prescribed properly, they have minimal or no side effects. Homeopathic medicines are safe for children and babies as well.

What kind of training is needed to become a practicing homeopath?

Anu: A homeopath undergoes rigorous training to become certified. We have a 5 & ½ year course that is similar to the study of medicine in order to become an allopathic general practitioner. The basic courses are the same with the exception of 3 subjects – homeopathic philosophy, the homeopathic Materia Medica (that’s the book we refer to when trying to match remedies to symptoms of patients) and pharmacy, the preparation of the medicines. All homeopathic students do internships in hospitals and are well versed with allopathic treatments of patients, as well as the homeopathic alternatives.

What can we expect when we visit a homeopath? Is there anything we need to prepare as patients?

Anu: Homeopathy is very patient dependent, so be prepared to talk in detail about yourself. Your homeopath will try to formulate a picture of you based on details of your medical history, dietary habits, emotions, appetite, the way you react to circumstances, etc. The more details you can provide, the easier it is for the homeopath to match you to the remedy. Remedies in homeopathy are approved on healthy provers (we do not do any animal testing).

What is a remedy is not working on the patient or if the symptoms do not disappear completely? Could we revert to allopathic medicines?

Anu: If the remedy is not working, it needs to be refined or changed. Go back to your homeopath with the results. To give you an example, if a patient is suffering from cough or cold, within the drug picture of cough, there will be further symptoms and therefore different remedies. The science is infallible and all remedies are proven, but the homeopath might make a mistake in catching the right remedy for you.

People who believe in allopathy often have little patience with homeopathy. What would you tell such a person?

Anu: Homeopathy is not magic. It takes time, and understanding the patient thoroughly to come up with a right remedy that works. People give years to allopathy, and they change doctors and specialists but still stick to allopathic treatments. If you give time to homeopathy, it can provide a safe alternative for you, whether you are treating short term cold and fever or long term diseases like allergies.

The Power of Words

I was trying to think back on some of the words I heard from people yesterday, and some that even popped into my mind. It’s amazing to see how words have energy, and how they can affect you and your moods. Here are some of the words I heard yesterday:

 Thank you

Allow me (someone helped me out at a café)

Welcome

Disgusted

Ugly

Invasion

Stupid

Connected

Peaceful

Flowing

Say them aloud and see how you react to them. I had a lot of fun observing my own reaction.

I have attached two You Tube videos on research done with water crystals by water researcher, Masaru Emoto from Japan. The project documents the effect of emotions and words on the crystal structure of water. If the effect of one word could be so strong on the water crystals, I wonder what the effect of these words do to us all the time, every single day!

Tapping into Your Intuition

I believe that learning to be intuitive is like learning to flow with life. We all have intuition, whether we want to believe it or not. We all get signs, from our own body and mind, and from our environment. However, it’s up to us to use this knowledge to live a more harmonious way of life.

What is Intuition?

Intuition is like ‘direct knowing’. Sometimes I do something that just doesn’t feel right, but I do it anyways, and regret it afterwards. Sometimes I may meet a person who I feel completely comfortable with and at other times, I’m not comfortable revealing a lot of information to someone else. I often start to hum songs unconsciously only to realize that it relates to some problem that I may have been thinking about or facing in life at the time. It’s annoying, but there it is. All of these are forms of intuition.

I love Penney Peirce’s book  The Intuitive Way, and I love the way she puts across her ideas. She says that intuition comes to us in the form of the ‘3 V’s’ – Vision, Voice and Vibration. Vision may come in form of a déjà vu, and vibration may come in the form of our body reacting to something, like feeling scared while walking down through a certain neighbourhood or feeling uplifted while walking in a park. Voice is our inner voice that we so often hear but we don’t give it importance. You can find answers to so many of your problems right there. Author, teacher, healer, Sonia Choquette says that our ‘sixth sense’ is natural for all of us, and when we train ourselves to listen to it, it turns into guidance, and connects us to our true path and purpose.

The Three Kinds of Mind

According to Peirce, psychology breaks consciousness into three components: the subconscious, the conscious and the superconscious minds. We perceive the world from our superconsious and subconscious minds. Both of these components store different types of memories. The conscious mind does not have memories, but is a point of awareness and choice.

Peirce says that our subconscious mind carries physical, biological and planetary knowledge through our entire evolutionary ascent. The subconscious carries memories of experiences where we are reacting from a survival instinct, having emotions such as fear, doubt, attack, separation, segregation, etc.  Eckhart Tolle refers to the negative emotions as the ‘pain body’. The superconscious mind on the other hand  is the collective consciousness of all life forms, or the soul’s awareness. The memories in this realm are that of the higher mind, and has emotions such as love, unity, wisdom, creativity, trust, etc.

The conscious mind, being the vehicle of free choice, now has two choices. It can choose to hear the superconscious mind and therefore feel whole and complete and experience love and contentment. Or it can hear the subconscious and feel small, isolated, fearful and ignorant.

Shift of consciousness and Intuition

If you have seen Dr. Wayne Dyer’s movie, ‘The Shift’, you would know that the movie revolves around various characters, who are either open or closed to the suggestions of their own intuition, and therefore either live a life of balance or live in disharmony. The ‘shift’  happens to some of the characters as they move from the subconsiousness to the super levels of consciousness and undergo a ‘shift’ in their personalities.

However, it’s not always easy to keep ourselves tapped into the superconsiousness all the time. We all oscillate between two worlds or two points of view. We could be feeling peaceful at one moment, but some event may bring our vibration down to a feeling of anxiety. Peirce writes that our ‘basic awareness is continually moving’.  Our ‘consciousness rocks into the superconsious realm to obtain higher perspective and a vision for our next period of self expression’ and then it ‘rocks back into the physical and subconscious realm to take and manifest the vision’.

So, how can we  make the shift to always access our superconscious state of mind ?

I can only tell you about my experiences, and I am sure there are several resources available that will help you to obtain your unique experience (I have listed a few resources below).

Developing intuition for me has been a journey, and will continue to be so, as all of us need to keep fine tuning it. The shift for me came when I was reading the books of Eckhart Tolle, and I suddenly became aware of my own consciousness, the flow into the higher realms of motivation and insight and the downward movement into confusion and depression. But once I could observe my ebb and flow, I was then able to practice shifting back to inspiration. whenever I felt low. With that also came a knowing that all experiences in life have a meaning, and are here only to teach us something, and that if we work with emotions like trust and love, we are able to comfortably weave through all experiences in life, good or bad.
